......happens to be Cross-Processing slide film. Taken with my Holga, Diana+, Fisheye or my Canon Rebel. I can't wait to develop the current roll that is in my camera. It's funny when switching to film after a very long stint with my digital. No matter what, I always look at the back of my camera to see the photo! LOL! Of course nothing is there. It's all based on faith that I took a good photo.
The first photo is one I took with my Holga camera (purchased at Urban Outfitters) using Fuji Slide film and cross-processing it. (meaning....it should be developed in E6 chemicals, but instead is developed in "normal" C-41 chemicals) My neighborhood film lab did this for me and the gal was totally excited to play with these photos. Your regular 1 Hour Photo labs will not do this. Find a professional!
You can choose to take 12 square photos or 16 rectangular photos. For this one, I chose the rectangular format. The photo is of my daughters school. The brick turned out yellow and the sky was a great blue! This was really the only good photo from this roll. I also love how she developed the photos with a black border and you can still kind of see the negatives' edging on the black portion.
The next photo is one that I took using "medium format film" in my Diana+ camera...also bought at Urban Outfitters. Both the Holga & the Diana are considered "plastic TOY cameras" when photographers refer to them. They are known for producing amazing vignetting and beautiful light leaks. Very unpredictable, but so fun for altered art projects!!
The photo is of my neice with light from her living room window. I'm not sure if this photo was double exposed, or if the rays were produced from "light leaks" in the camera.
The lady at the lab developed them into 5x5 squares for me. I only ended up with about 4 or 5 photos on this roll. It was the first time for me using the camera and the biggest mistake I make is FORGETTING TO TAKE OFF THE LENS CAP!
So, I also bought the Fisheye Camera...(yes, Urban Outfitters). I took these photos a very long time ago...but here is an example of that:
You can develop these photos at your local One hour lab...such as Walmart or wherever. I also had them put them on CD so I could upload them to Photoshop. As you can see, I further embellished the image with some Photoshop brushes. Uh, and it's not the most flattering photo of myself...LOL
To wrap up this little "ditty"....
I decided that my biggest love out of all of the above is the cross-processed effect using 35 mm slide film. So I decided that instead of using the clumsy (yet fun) toy cameras....I would try using a regular Canon Rebel SLR camera. I am also trying Kodak Slide Film right now and have taken about 1/2 a roll of a 36 exposure. We'll see how those turn out tomorrow or the next day. (remember...I'm supposed to be STUDYING!)
Any questions??? Heehee.
Happy Foto-Taking!
